The Crisis Standards of Care guidance is designed to assist healthcare providers with decision-making to maximize patient survival in declared disaster situations when the volume of patients and their resource needs far surpass available capabilities and capacity of healthcare facilities to provide normal standards of care. Please note: This tabletop exercise does not count as one of your facility exercises to meet CMS’ emergency preparedness requirements. While the table top will help facilities understand how to integrate into a community response in an emergency, the CMS table top exercises are intended to review and exercise individual facility plans.
